Ewan is here.

This pregnancy was a journey into the unplanned and unexpected. Why did I think that Ewan's birth would be any different? I know you know we are exhausted and I promise that after I hit publish, I'm pumping, sitzing, and going to bed. One day (hopefully soon), I will write out the birth story for you. It's one I don't want to forget, and it's one where the details throw into sharp relief just how protected and watched over we are.

But I couldn't resist sharing just a few pictures. And I know you won't care, but these were taken with my camera phone off of the display of camera, so they're by no means prettied up versions, but they are what we have. And I love them.

James and I are home for the night, doing our best to secure a good night's sleep. Ewan is doing amazingly well and in good hands at Children's Hospital. Our hearts are so very full.

  1. And my heart is so full with you!

I want nothing but rest, peace, and joy for you in these days ... and am looking forward to the moment I read the full birth story, though I know it may take some time until it comes. :)

  6. Congratulations! I know it's usually hard to tell with a newborn what parent they look like, but oh my gosh he looks so much like you. Something about his expression, it's hard for me to put my finger on it. What a blessing. I'll keep praying for you guys!
