Photography

Photography is one of the few things in my life which I term a passion. It all started with a small HP point-and-shoot camera, and has since morphed into a consuming hobby, and will hopefully one day make up a creatively-oriented career.

The images on this blog are, unless otherwise noted, my own. For those of you interested in the specs, I shoot with a Canon 40D and claim the 50mm f/1.4 and 70-200mm f/2.8 IS lenses among my favorites. If you want to see more of what I've done, you can take a look at my Flickr photostream.

Images in this space are as much enhancement to what I write as they are part of the message. I believe God is in the details we so often miss, and my camera has taught me to see those things. It has taught me to acknowledge the beauty of the everyday and to see things that once upon a time, were beneath my notice. And sometimes, it is the images themselves that inspire the insights or reflections I share.

I am currently in the process of constructing a site dedicated to photography where, if you wish, you can download or purchase copies of some of my favorite images. I will announce this publicly when it is ready to go!

Do you see a photo you'd like to use?
I'm generally pleased as punch when people do me the honor of requesting to use my photographs for their own blogs, websites, or personal use. If you see something you'd like to use, please e-mail me at kirsten116 [at] gmail [dot] com and we can work out the details from there.

I'd rather not mention it, but ...
I have had pictures stolen before, and I'm not a big fan. Don't do it.
