I learned today that my insurance claim has been closed as of March 8. My insurance company didn't call me; I learned this information when I checked the claim status at their website.
Yea! Glad to hear all is settled. It's such a relief to finally have closure. I was in a very minor accident about a year ago when someone rear-ended me at a stop-sign. Even though it wasn't a big deal, I couldn't believe how much time it took just to get it all straightened out.
kirsten- i went back and read your posts about this situation b/c i wasn't a reader yet when it happened.
glad to hear it's all settled! what happened with the driver that claimed she was injured? did they find out she wasn't really?
i highly disdain driving in snow and ice. i'm from the south so i didn't have to do it much until i moved to western md, where we had near arctic winters.
during one ice storm, i had a student with me and we slid off the road into a ditch....luckily, we were going at a crawling pace and even though it was bumper to bumper traffic, amazingly i didn't hit anyone and we werent hurt. angels HAD to have been around my car that day!
Hi Blue Mountain - I am with you on the snow & ice. I disdain the stuff! I don't know any of the specifics of the settlement, but I am more than faintly curious as to what exactly closing this claim entailed. The woman a hit was "quite a character" to put it nicely; the adjuster I was working with said with all the info & statements she had available, it was HIGHLY unlikely she sustained the injuries she was claiming.
I have been a victim of some pretty nasty whiplast myself (being a passenger in a car accident about 11 years ago), so I know it doesn't take much. I can only hope that if she really was injured, that she heals quickly.
ANYWAY ... just all glad it's settled now. That makes me happy. :o)

ReplyDeleteYou'll probably sleep a little better tonight! =)
I, too, was surprised at how long it took to get resolved. But at last, I can enjoy the sweet relief of closure. =)
