Walk in the Park

Though it was chilly and threatened rain all day, Kaari and I were itching to take a walk through one of our local parks. This is how we spent our Thursday afternoon ...

In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.

  3. Ahhh, so PRETTY!!! Reminds me of a place Kirk and I hiked earlier this week up in Santa Barbara, but it had nowhere near the amount of color and water. Of course, you northwesterners get more rain than anyone else on this whole continent! All that water refreshes my soul just to look at it. Thanks for sharing!

PS: BMM -- I love love love your new picture! :)

  4. Thanks, ladies! I'm glad you both enjoyed the photos. Being able to see the world right around me through the lens of my camera has given me a new level of apprecation for the creation right outside my door. I LOVE IT HERE! :o)

Blue - yes, I do believe you and I are truly kindred spirits. All your pics of beautiful Appalachia speak volumes about how deeply you love creation & the outdoors in general.

As for the flower, I believe it is a salmonberry flower. If I'm not mistaken, the trillium has three petals instead of five.

I wanted to say too how much I LOVE your new profile photo. :o)

C - We do get our fair share of rain here, it is true! I love how fresh & green it makes everything. This place is one that definitely serves to refresh my own soul. I have been requiring these outdoor trips more often lately as I find myself challenged in my daily life. Anyone would be hard-pressed to take me from this place!
